CEO Magazine: Georgia Web MBA ranks among tops in world, North America

Georgia College & State University is one of six University System of Georgia schools that comprise the Georgia WebMBA program

CEO Magazine has ranked the Georgia WebMBA program 12th in the world and fifth in North America in its 2016 Global Online MBA Rankings.

 

Participating in the Georgia WebMBA program since its launch, James Payne, dean of the J. Whitney Bunting College of Business, said he was thrilled with the recognition.

 

“Georgia College has been a participating university in the Georgia WebMBA consortium since the inception of the AACSB-accredited program 15 years ago,” Dr. Payne said. “This competitively priced program is conveniently accessible to working professionals. We are pleased at the recognition by CEO Magazine, which represents another example of the kind of national and international recognition the program receives on a regular basis.”

 

Among those included in the top world rankings with the Georgia WebMBA were SBS Swiss Business School, Pepperdine University and European University. This latest accolade adds to the growing list for the Georgia WebMBA.

 

“While rankings are not our goal, they are the result of excellence in curriculum, highly qualified and productive faculty and staff that continue to innovate and improve the program,” said Faye McIntyre, lead dean of the Georgia WebMBA. “Students and employers look for third-party evaluations such as accreditation and rankings to validate quality. Other indicators of success include a graduation rate of more than 90 percent and numerous positive recommendations from those who have gone through the WebMBA.”

 

The 2016 rankings by CEO Magazine evaluated more than 100 MBA programs across North America, Europe and Australia. The rankings are designed with future students in mind and examine learning environment, class sizes, tuition and fees, faculty, delivery methods, international diversity and more.

 

The Georgia WebMBA is offered through Columbus State University, Georgia College, Georgia Southern University, Kennesaw State University, University of West Georgia and Valdosta State University. The six-school consortium gives students in Georgia and around the world access to a premier MBA degree, with the flexibility to take classes anywhere, anytime.

 

“The Georgia WebMBA is unique in its consortium format,” McIntyre said. “All professors teaching in the program have doctoral degrees and the vast majority have industry experience, as well. Faculties receive special training in online teaching to translate classroom skills to the virtual format. Our students work with the best faculty from all six universities.”

 

Since its inception, the Georgia WebMBA program has graduated more than 49 cohorts of students, with an average class size of 30. The virtual classroom reflects real-world working environments, with a diverse cohort of students from different backgrounds and areas of business.

 

The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International accredits all six universities in the Georgia WebMBA consortium. The AACSB is the leading global accrediting body for business schools. Students may begin the five-term program in either January or August.

Storage costs can add up quickly for materials and supplies, and quality-assessment costs accrue for incoming and production line assessments.

Other issues that can increase costs are material shortages, which may result in paying higher costs for materials and/or shipping to acquire the materials in time to keep production lines flowing. Often, it is more costly to stop a production line than to overnight-ship materials to the manufacturer.

It is easy to see why a top-notch management team is required to keep all of these complex elements of the supply chain in sync and continuously flowing properly. Anywhere along the way, a small problem can quickly escalate into a large one, costing a manufacturer time and money and potentially costing the end customer problems, as well.
